Wedding magic, from cocktail hour to the last dance.

Your wedding day has one gap nobody plans for: between the ceremony and the reception, while you're off taking photos and your guests are standing around with a drink. That's exactly where I come in, with magic that happens right in their hands.

The case

Why couples book a magician for their wedding

Here's the honest truth about wedding entertainment. Your DJ gets people dancing. Your photo booth gives them a picture. Magic is the only thing at your wedding whose entire job is creating moments between people.

Your university friends and your parents' friends don't know each other. Magic fixes that in about ninety seconds. A shared impossible moment turns strangers at table twelve into people laughing together, and that energy carries into the rest of the night.

Zero setup, no AV, no staging, no green room. I show up, I start, your venue never notices me except when the gasps start. It's visual, so it works across every language and culture in the room, and it's completely clean and family friendly for every generation there.

Cocktail hour close-up magic

While you're taking photos, I move through your guests performing magic in their hands. Typically 1.5 to 2 hours of roaming coverage, through cocktails and into early dinner as guests find their tables.

Table-to-table during dinner

Same close-up magic, brought to each table between courses. Every table gets its own moment, and every table becomes the one you had to be there for.

The after-dinner show

A 45 to 60 minute parlour show for the whole room, always after dinner when the energy is right. It becomes the shared story your guests tell for years.

Multicultural and multi-generational weddings

Multiple generations of family reacting with amazement to close-up magic at Jennifer and Robert's Chinese wedding banquet in Vancouver

Vancouver weddings often bring two families meeting properly for the first time, spanning generations and, sometimes, languages. Close-up magic is built for exactly this. It needs no translation, it works during a mehndi, a reception cocktail hour, or between courses at a 300 person dinner, and it gives relatives who've never met a reason to grab each other's arms and laugh.

Jennifer and Robert's wedding banquet is a good example: two generations of the family, most conversations happening in a mix of Cantonese and English, and a table of aunties who'd never met a magician before that night.

Weddings run $1,500 to $2,500 plus GST. Cocktail hour close-up magic starts at $1,500, and most couples book the full evening, close-up plus the after-dinner show, at $2,500. One exception worth knowing early: November and December are peak season, and every booking in those two months is the full evening at a flat $5,000, weddings included.
