The magician one national firm has booked five years running.

Law firm holiday parties, retreats and client events call for entertainment that reads as sophisticated, not loud. Close-up magic in your partners' and clients' hands does exactly that, and it's why the bookings repeat.

Why firms book this

Entertainment that matches the room

Two guests reacting together, one wide-eyed and one laughing, during close-up coin magic at a Vancouver firm's holiday reception

A law firm event has a different tone than a typical office party: senior partners, major clients, and a reputation to maintain even at the holiday party. Close-up magic reads as clever and controlled rather than loud, which is exactly what a room full of lawyers and their guests responds to.

It's also the rare entertainment that gets a partner and a first-year associate reacting the same way, in the same conversation, which is harder to engineer than it sounds.

In the room

The reaction

A card revealed in a partner's own hands, three feet from their face.

A table of guests laughing hard during close-up card magic at a Vancouver firm dinner

The table

Worked table to table as dinner starts, so no group gets missed.

A typical firm event of 50 to 200 guests runs $2,000 for close-up magic during the reception, $3,000 for a stage show, or $4,000 for both. Larger events, over 200 guests, run $5,000 for full coverage. One exception: November and December, when your holiday party is most likely to land. Those months book the full evening only, no unbundling, at a flat $5,000, so the earlier you lock a December date the more options you have.
