Metrotown is where most of the Burnaby work happens. McDonald's has booked Kel Modern Magic for their holiday party at the Hilton Vancouver Metrotown three years running, and the Regency Lexus grand opening at Station Square, a block away, ran close-up magic through a showroom crowd rather than a seated one.
Three years, three different shows. The first I performed close-up with Mike Oulton hosting. The second I could not make the date, so John Ha performed and Mike hosted, and the party went ahead exactly as booked. The third we switched again and I ran the whole evening as a one-man show. They also brought me into an actual restaurant for the grand reopening of their flagship, doing close-up magic in the dining room.
