What Does Training look like for a Magician in the World?
We also have to spend time, effort and energy training, learning, rehearsing, practicing, and studying? So what does that actually look like? Often times people think it’s sitting in my bedroom looking at a mirror or videoing with my iphone but it’s much more than that.
Magicians go to conventions all over the world to meet professionals in their designated specialties. There are magicians who are skilled at only card magic, or skilled at only reading minds, or exceptionally good at building contraptions and mechanical props. The point is, the world changes rapidly. In the last 10 years magic especially has changed a lot for the better so in order to stay relevant, we need to attend these conventions to update our firmware.
Next week in particular, I leave Vancouver to fly to Toronto for a Magic business convention with my coach to learn more about how I can serve my clients better. How to improve their experience which in one word, how to make their event more FUN. How I can make my magic stronger, how I can spark conversations better while I’m at events, and communicate better on what I actually do.
In the last 3 years, I’ve been a part of the Discourse in Magic Mastermind working alongside Jonah Babins learning how to transform my business into a full-time career and how to really live the dream. Do what you love for work.
If you are an aspiring magician and would like some free tips on how to get started, I would head down to this link right here and start following the discourse in magic podcast to start growing today.
